What can I mix with Protein Powder?

Yo yo,

We meet again. I hope you kings and queens are doing well and working hard on whatever it is you want.

Thanks for stopping by because today, we are going through a unique, yet necessary question.

“What can I mix with protein powder?”

Now if you’ve been using it for a while, then you probably already know most of what we’re going through today. However, if you are knew, I strongly believe that the information we’ll be going through today will be quite useful.

Protein powder is extremely versatile, which means that it can be used with multiple other ingredients. You might want to mix it with other ingredients because you want the taste to be better, you want more calories, you want a breakfast or you just want to make it easier to get down.

Whatever it may be, we’ll go through some things you can add to your protein powder to make life better.

Water and/or Milk

This may sound obvious, but it doesn’t harm to go over it again.

More than likely, when you’re using protein powder, water or milk will be involved in some way shape or form. It’s a staple for most recipes.

Typically, I always use milk for protein powder. Whether it be for a smoothie, pancake or a standard shake. I like to use milk because I find it tastes better (my preference) and I like the extra protein that comes from it. However, water is always a good option.

Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are great options when using a protein powder. You can make smoothies/milkshakes with protein powder, and those will typically involve fruits.

Fruits are delicious after all. They’re sweet, easy to get down and have their own vitamins. You can use ANY fruit you want. Whatever your favourite fruit is, you can use it. Mix and match and find what works for you.

My personal favourites are banana and berries. I know I might sound like every other person when talking about smoothies, but truly, banana and berries are just amazing to me.

Vegetables should not be ignored as well. They’re certainly a viable option. Although I wouldn’t typically use vegetables on their own, since I find them to be less desirable than fruits, I would recommend combining them with fruits to make a better combination.

Some good options I’ve found are:

– Carrots

– Kale

– Spinach

– Cucumber

Some of you may simply not enjoy the standard protein shake (water and/or with milk and the powder), which is fine. Therefore, viewing fruits and vegetables as options is a good decision.

Oats

Now we’re getting slightly unconventional.

Let’s start with oats.

Oats are a great option for a variety of reasons. One reason is that it is very filling. The fiber content within oats is quite filling and satiating. So for those who want to crush their hunger cravings, incorporating oats into a protein shake is an excellent option.

Another reason you may wish to include oats is because of the caloric amount. 30g of oats is around 110 calories! This makes oats a good asset when bulking. On top of this, the flavour isn’t strong, so it can easily slip into a shake.

Yoghurt

A personal favourite of mine.

Youghurt can be used whenever. Cut? Bulk? Maintenance? Want to spice up a shake? Yoghurt can do it all.

A lot of, if not all fitness gurus will tell you to use greek yoghurt.

Sure, it’s good, and I normally use it.

However, it’s not the end of the world if you decide to use a different type of yoghurt. Today isn’t about maximising your protein intake, it’s about what ingredients you can use alongside protein powder.

Yoghurt is quite versatile, as there are many flavours and there are high-protein options. Yoghurt is also good because it can be high in calcium, vitamins, probiotics.

Wrapping up

And there we have it.

Slightly shorter than usual, but I didn’t want to needlessly ramble to boost the word count (tempting though)

So, we can use water, milk, fruits, vegetables, yoghurt and oats. I wasn’t going to recommend some crazy ingredients just to surprise you. I wanted to recommend ingredients that I would also use myself and believe are beneficial to you all.

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you soon.

Stay strong and keep improving yourselves!
